Lassi is a traditional Ayurvedic probiotic drink made from diluted yogurt that is taken typically after the mid-day meal to aid in digestion. There are several versions of lassi to choose from, but this one is particularly great for some Summertime balancing.
Whenever there is excess heat in the system, a cooling and nourishing Rose Lassi can be the perfect medicine to offset the heat while still aiding the digestive fire.
Rose energetically is cooling not only to the body but also to the mind. It helps balance Sadhaka Pitta, which is a subdosha of Pitta, and this subdosha is responsible for processing emotions and calming the heart and mind. This is often in need during the intense heat of Summer days!
Yogurt is full of calcium, protein, and natural live cultures that impart the probiotic effect, but can be quite heavy on digestion, that's why we thin out the yogurt with water and add additional digestive aids to make this truly beneficial and easy for the digestive system to utilize this medicinal food.
