Quinoa Porridge
Ingredients
This is the base recipe, then follow the version that best suits your constitution.
½ cup cooked quinoa
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
VATA version
1/2 chopped apple
1/4 tsp freshly grated ginger
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
small handful of raisins or 2 chopped dates
pinch of pink salt
Topping suggestions: small dollop of almond butter, cinnamon
PITTA version
1/2 sliced strawberries
2 Tbsp hemp seeds
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 /2 Tbsp maple syrup
pinch of pink salt
Topping suggestions: cinnamon, fresh mint leaves
KAPHA version
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp ground cloves
2 Tbsp flax seeds
pinch of pink salt
Topping suggestions: cinnamon, cardamom, grated ginger
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine cooked quinoa, milk, and ingredients.
Bring to a simmer and cook, covered for about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and serve with the topping for your dosha.
