Spring brings in kapha energy which can cause a cold and sluggish digestion and therefore more opportunity to build up toxins (ama).
Ginger pickle is a great digestive aid that helps stimulate your digestive fire (agni) before meals so that you are less likely to acquire toxins from undigested food in the body.
Regarding each body type:
🌬️Vata ~ best before lunch and dinner for this cold, variable digestion
🔥Pitta ~ could benefit but shouldn't partake if severe excess heat i.e. heartburn, diarrhea, stomach upset (pitta already has a lot of fire)
🌲Kapha ~ most needed here! Take before each meal. Ginger is one of kapha's best allies!
Ingredients:
2 tsp thin sliced fresh ginger
2 tsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 tsp honey
Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
Instructions:
I place all the ingredients on one big spoon! Take 15-20 minutes before your meal.
First add the ginger slices, sprinkle salt, add the honey then squeeze on the lemon juice.
Please experiment with the quantities to suit your palate.
